A 3.6 μ s Latency Asynchronous Frame-Free Event-Driven Dynamic-Vision-Sensor
نویسندگان
چکیده
−This paper presents a 128x128 dynamic vision sensor. Each pixel detects temporal changes in the local illumination. A minimum illumination temporal contrast of 10% can be detected. A compact preamplification stage has been introduced that allows to improve the minimum detectable contrast over previous designs, while at the same time reducing the pixel area by 1/3. The pixel responds to illumination changes in less than 3.6μs. The ability of the sensor to capture very fast moving objects, rotating at 10K revolutions per second, has been verified experimentally. A frame-based sensor capable to achieve this, would require at least 100K frames per second.

This paper proposes a CMOS vision sensor that combines event-driven asynchronous readout of temporal contrast with synchronous frame-based active pixel sensor (APS) readout of intensity. The image frames can be used for scene content analysis and the temporal contrast events can be used to track fast moving objects, to adjust the frame rate, or to guide a region of interest readout. Therefore t...
متن کاملA 128 128 120 dB 15 s Latency Asynchronous Temporal Contrast Vision Sensor
This paper describes a 128 128 pixel CMOS vision sensor. Each pixel independently and in continuous time quantizes local relative intensity changes to generate spike events. These events appear at the output of the sensor as an asynchronous stream of digital pixel addresses. These address-events signify scene reflectance change and have sub-millisecond timing precision. The output data rate dep...

A new paradigm on visual sensing was introduced in 2006 with the first Event-Driven Dynamic Vision Sensor (DVS) [1], inspired by the asynchronous Address Event Representation (AER) introduced by Mahowald [2], and Kramer’s transient detector concept [3]. The Dynamic Vision Sensor (DVS), also known as silicon-retinae, consists of a 128x128 pixel grid, that captures asynchronous individual light c...
متن کاملSpatiotemporal features for asynchronous event-based data
Bio-inspired asynchronous event-based vision sensors are currently introducing a paradigm shift in visual information processing. These new sensors rely on a stimulus-driven principle of light acquisition similar to biological retinas. They are event-driven and fully asynchronous, thereby reducing redundancy and encoding exact times of input signal changes, leading to a very precise temporal re...
